Budget Car Rental

I had a reservation for a month prior for a premium SUV. On arrival, they said they only had two 12-passenger vans available and to go to a different agency if I wanted to. I didn’t give them a hard time or an attitude at all, however they were unapologetic the whole time and just sent me away with a bus. I will be returning this truck tomorrow and go to a different agency and never use Budget again. First and last time. ***Update: I emailed them after responding to my review on here, drove 30mins back to the airport to switch the van/bus they gave me (as instructed and assured by email) and I was met with sarcasm by the representatives on the grounds and said if the car was drivable there was no way they can give me a different one. Absolutely unacceptable experience with Budget Rent A Car at Pittsburgh International Airport. I arrived on Christmas Day with a confirmed reservation and was met with an empty counter, no employees, no working kiosk, no signage, and no after-hours instructions. There was no way to obtain a vehicle or keys and no immediate assistance available. As a result, I was stranded at the airport on Christmas with two children and forced to pay for a hotel room out of pocket because Budget failed to staff the location or provide any functional after-hours process. Overcharged us, worst customer service before during and after. Don’t let the name fool you. Use ANYONE else. Reservation stated a price of $249.00 but when it was all said and done we spent over $500.00 There’s a reason they have less than 3 stars. It all started when we reserved an electric vehicle (my fiance is super eco conscience) we showed up and went through the entire process and found out when they asked if we wanted to pay for fuel now or fill it up upon return. If you can’t provide us with what was reserved you’d think they’d say something along the lines of “I see you reserved an electric vehicle, unfortunately we do not have any, are there any other vehicles you would like to consider?” No, they just gave us another vehicle didn’t communicate ANYTHING….also seems like poor

If this could be a zero star rating it would be, car stopped in the middle of Pennsylvania and had to be towed to the airport. The car was on the back of a flatbed at 12:30am and I being charged market price (not 9.79 per gallon). Waited 4 hours for a tow truck to get to my daughter and I and all I received was a days rental refunded and charged 3.22 per gallon for a car that was on the back of a flatbed truck. So you tell me would you be thinking about putting gas in the car. Customer service both at the call center and at the desk in the Pittsburgh airport was poor at best. But I can tell they're company people. Last time ever renting from budget. Deleting the app and fast break number.

I've been a Fast Break member for a few years now, but my experience with this location has me switching to a different company when I need to rent cars in the future. My kids and I landed at the airport and I immediately got a text with my vehicle and parking spot. Perfect. When we got to the car, there was some garbage in it, but I just threw it away and went on. I should have gone back to the counter. There was a winter storm advisory and we ended up getting 8-10 inches of snow in 24 hours leading up to my needing to return the vehicle and fly home. While driving it during the storm (about an inch or so on the ground at the time) it locked up and slid twice when brakes were gently pushed.
