Budget Car Rental

I rented a car from them, 5/22-5/25. On 5/25 my drop off was scheduled for 12. I showed up at 11:55am, and the door was locked. I had a flight to catch, and I called 10x with no answer. Left the car in the back, took a video of the closed place, and left the keys in the center console. They just reopened again today, and tried to charge me for 2 extra days.. safe to say, I disputed the entire charge and closed my card with my bank. Be careful renting from them, the reviews don’t lie and they clearly do this to people often.

We had a horrible experience with this rental location and the employee Freddy who worked there. My wife and I had rented a car from the Mesa Airport location and were given an electric vehicle. We do not have an electric vehicle and have never used one. We did not want the vehicle, but the employee said it was a great vehicle and would be easy to charge. Skeptical, we took the vehicle, a Subaru Solterra. No details were provided on charging other than to download an app called Presto. This app would show us charging location that we could charge at. When we got into the vehicle it was not fully charged and a little dirty. Driving the first day was fine and we found one charger while eating lunch in Gilbert, AZ. We let it charge for 1 ½ hours and only received 30 additional miles.

I prepaid "estimated" charges for a one-week car rental. Once I returned the car, the actual charges I incurred were $75 less than what my credit card was charged for the prepayment. When I called the store to inquire about my refund, I was told I would have to call "customer service," and was given an 800 number to call. The runaround had begun. After being on hold for 45 minutes with "customer service," I was told that Avis/Budget's policy is to not refund for prepayments, but they would offer me a discount on a future rental. I told them I did not want a future rental discount, I wanted to be refunded my money, because I had been charged more than what I actually incurred. 25 minutes later, I had spoken with a supervisor, who told me the same thing. Cancelled my reservation at time of pickup. To add insult to injury, I have to call an 800 number to get my prepayment refunded. Friendly employee, but garbage service.

Rented a vehicle from here. The vehicle was nasty and not cleaned at all. Streaks on the windows, food on the floors. They also decided to try and claim my husband smoked in the vehicle. Which he did not because we have 2 small children and he knows not to smoke in a vehicle with them. I explained to them that he stood outside the vehicle and it was windy. They didn’t care. They tried to charge my card for it but I fought it and they marked on my profile that we will smoke in the car.
