Budget Truck Rental

I wanted to leave this review simply to alert other potential customers of some possible things to watch out for. I know renting a truck is expensive, so if you're going for the lower cost, keep in mind that the truck you reserve with Budget may not be what you get. If you are able, reserve the truck a few days in advance to the day you would like to depart. Look for signs of frame damage in places the doors don't close, large dents, and welding, missing pieces, and caulking which may be covering up damage. Unfortunately, even the low expectations I had for a truck rental were not met by Budget. All you really need at the end of the day is a working truck and dependable roadside assistance--which is something you expect when you're paying for a cross-country move. I reserved a 12' truck a

Made a reservation online for a box truck today...I live in New Braunfels, so I had to get an Uber to bring me...Before I got the Uber, I tried calling 4 or 5 times just to make sure there weren't going to be any problems, but they never answered...I had to proceed and head there, because I needed to get on the road and deliver materials...Once I got there, I was informed they weren't going to honor my reservation...He said it was last minute, and they didn't have to honor it...No apologies, or any other assistance from him...I wasted an Uber trip there and the rest of my afternoon trying to find something else...If the system is broken...fix it! If there aren't any trucks available, don't let people rent them...Very unprofessional behavior for a business. I understand things can happen,

These guys have gone beyond their duties to make a horrific incident better . If you rent anywhere else. You'll be sorry. Hey guys I've been I'll due to my injuries it's hard to move things with broken ribs . Be there today anyway to finish. One more trip should cover it. Way cheaper than Uhaul. I'll admit, the truck was dirty inside the cab area and make sure you check all the lights and equipment is working before you burn off. The first truck they tried to give me had a headlight out. Once I pointed it out though they had another one within minutes. But it served it's purpose and was less than half of what Uhaul wanted to charge me.

I have rented trucks and cars at this location before and rarely had an issue. Today however, I rented a moving truck and Kyle who I've always dealt with said he would not acknowledge my reservation because he did not see it on his handwritren paperwork. I told him I had the reservation email and he said sorry doesn't matter there's nothing I can do. Very disappointed and frustrated that having a reservation email doesn't matter if it's not on a handwritten note.
