Budget Truck Rental

I reserved a truck five days in advance and they called me the afternoon before I was to pick up the truck to tell me that they didn’t have one for me. They didn’t offer any help in finding another truck in the area, they just told me to call the 800 number if I wanted to find another truck. This was at the end of the month, so finding a replacement truck was extremely difficult. Terrible customer service at the Mundelein location. After the fact, they charged me $50 for not canceling my reservation (although they called to tell me they didn’t have anything for me). I got my $50 back, but will hesitate to ever use budget again.

I had a reservation but they did not have the truck. I called Budget 800 number they said they would call me back. No call back. I called again they said they would escalate the claim. No call back. Called them the next morning no call back.

Reserved a truck more than 3 weeks ago and received a call 5 days before my move that no truck would be available. Not only did they not have the 26' truck that I had reserved, but they also didn't have any trucks that would be close to that size. Called Budget 800# provided by local store and after a call back was told the closest they could do is a 16' truck that is located ~30 miles away. No thanks. Luckily a local U-Haul had an actually guaranteed truck so I took my business there. Horrible company, look elsewhere for your moving needs.

I made a reservation 4 weeks in advance. 5 days before the actual date they have silently cancelled the reservation via email. Additionally, their third-party vendors/partners called multiply times to my cellphone trying to sell additional services that I never asked for (but they kept calling). Very bad service. Not recommended.
