Carquest Auto Parts - SAM-CAP AUTO PARTS

Went into Carquest for a battery. They keep the batteries in the back, totally fine. The guy asked the year, make and model of the car and brought out a battery for me. Popped that battery into the car and about a month later, started having issues with it starting. Brought it to the mechanic who told me it was not the right battery for the car and I should bring it back to where I bought it. Called CarQuest and was told it is my responsibility to make sure the battery is correct even though I was not the one who selected the battery, I trusted the person working there. What is the point of this type of store where parts are kept behind the counter if they do not stand behind the fact that they are bringing out the correct parts based on the information provided. Service here is top notch. Very friendly and informative staff. Had part last minute for me so came here after another store had sold out. Only improvement I think would be super helpful for them to make is to keep an optional customer database for warranty purposes. If you buy a part here with a lifetime warranty, you MUST keep receipt, which is printed on standard receipt paper and I suspect ink would fade off of over time. I'm putting a new part on an old truck, so I doubt I will use the warranty on it, but if I was buying a part for a newer vehicle that I would suspect possibly needing to replace a couple years down the line, I would rather buy from a place that can keep records of those transactions and not need to depend on my receipt for proof.

One of the gentlemen carried my 2 gallons of washer fluid for me because of a hip problem going down the stairs. And then he put a gallon into that car for me! I was very impressed people just aren't that helpful anymore! So I gave him a $5 tip and felt good about it. Nice gentleman. The gentleman at the counter also was friendly and professional.

Had a local shop replace a wheel bearing on my f250 with a moog bearing. First mistake. Failed within 2 months and less than 5k miles. Tried to get it warrantied but the owner Ken refused because the shop I had used now had an outstanding balance of a whopping $130. I the customer had to physically go to the store and pay the shops minimal outstanding balance ($130... nevermind you my wheel bearing was almost $500) to get a part replaced that was under manufacturers warranty. However even though it would be no cost to Ken the owner or the store itself, I was forced to pay something I did not owe and take time to right something I did not wrong. Finally got that done only to have the same bearing fail yet again less than 2 months later only to be told this time that without the original box

Very clean. Quick service. Had the parts I needed. Reasonable prices.
