Chucks Auto Repair in Shoreline is the best repair shop I've used. I've brought both my Buick Encore and 2008 Chrysler Crossfire there for years because of their exceptional service. The service managers, Steve and Ryan, are honest and transparent about what's needed. While their rates aren't the cheapest, the quality is worth it. They only repair what's necessary, their diagnoses are accurate, and they stick to their estimates unless they find additional issues—in which case they always call first. They've gone above and beyond multiple times, including when I damaged my Crossfire's oil pan. I’ve been to a lot of auto shops over the years, but this one truly stands out. The team here is incredibly transparent. Steve and Ryan will walk you through everything they’re doing and never make you feel pressured or confused. I really appreciate how they take the time to explain the issues in a way that actually makes sense, whether you know cars or not. They’re also extremely thorough and detail-oriented, checking things I wouldn’t even think to ask about and making sure my car is genuinely safe and running well before I leave. DO NOT GO HERE! I took my car in for a brake inspection due to excessive squeaking. They did a full car inspection and stated that my brakes were perfectly fine and "still had a lot of life left in them". They did convince me to pay $700 to replace a timing belt. One week later, my brakes stopped working in the middle of me driving. Took it to a different auto shop, my brakes were scraping so bad that my brake lines were broken and the fluid leaked out, causing my brakes to stop working completely. I could have died. DO NOT GO HERE!

These guys have a real down-to-earth vibe and come off as honest and looking out for your best interest. But look behind the facade and you’ll discover some very slick salesmen with high margins to meet. Notice that they’ll rarely let you get out of their shop for under $2k, even if you’re just coming in for an oil change and have a car that’s up-to-date on service. After years of falling for their tricks I realized that they actually damaged my car because there was nothing wrong with it and then acted like they discovered a “new” sudden issue. After talking to other past clients of theirs, I found out this has happened to more than just myself. Beware of Chucks Auto.
