Richard is the guy you want working on your car. He did a manual swap on my 2001 Jetta TDI and the work was done so clean it feels factory. Everything works exactly like it should, right down to the cruise control, and I haven’t had a single issue with it since he did the swap over 10 years ago. Just had him do a timing belt on the same car earlier this week. Best price I found, excellent service, and finished the same day. He knows these TDIs inside and out, and he’ll tell you if there’s anything else worth addressing while he’s in there. No pressure and no sales pitch, just good advice from someone who actually knows what he’s doing. If you’re looking for a TDI specialist, Richard is the guy and Cool Air Auto is the shop.

If you are looking a small locally owned shop this is your place! I worked directly with the owner who was very nice, honest and communicative. My bill ended up being less than he had originally quoted me and he could have charged me the higher amount and I wouldn’t ever known the difference. It’s difficult to find honesty in auto shops these days. The work was fast and great! Highly recommend!!

After looking at reviews determining that this guy might be legit I took my car here for a turbo boost problem. I can confirm that this guy either didn't look at my car or just flat out lied to me. I paid $145 to be told I need a new turbo which would cost $1,000 to install, or the veins needed to be cleaned. After getting it onto the lift myself it turned out to be the turbo actuator which is VERY common to fail in my model of car, TDI. It was completely locked up and froze and took 2 minuets to find under a car lift. A $30 20 minuet fix and I had my turbo boost back and while under there there veins moved like they were new. Richard did a timing chain replacement job on my 2011 vw tiguan 2.0 tsi. Great customer service, very transparent, fantastic work, and very thorough. Highly recommend!!!

Richard at Cool Air VW is very knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to the vw diesel engines. He helped me sort and get my '90 DOKA back on the road. He had done work to my '02 golf TDI for the previous owner so thats how I found his shop. Glad to have this project back on the road
