The quality of work, the value pricing, communication from the owner was simply fantastic. I took my car to Davis for a 2nd opinion after a quote from another body shop on Hilton Head Island. The other place wanted over $6,000 and Gene Davis’ shop did the work perfectly for less than my insurance deductible. This shop maybe the only honest body shop I’ve ever been to. I could not be more pleased and I saved a ton of money and got a perfect job. My name is Mack Davis ( no relation to the owner) and I’ve lived in Hilton Head Island for close to 20 years. Horrible shop with the worst cutomer service. I would NOT recommend this company or any company they are affiliated with to include "Joe Hudson's Collision Center". If I could give zero stars I would. Spoke with the owner regarding a custom color match paint job for my after market front and rear bumbers for my Jeep. We agreed to a price and i dropped off the parts on October 2nd. First the lady i met at the shop when dropping them off had no idea what she was doing. I was told someone would come out with a "really expensive camera" to scan my vehicle to make sure they got the color correct yet she had no clue what that meant (come to find out she doesn't even work there. It's the owners "girlfriend" and she lives in the shop, had a bed in the office and everything --pretty sketchy). After

Gene and Will were so accommodating!! Not only did they paint/fix my car in one day, Will actually gave me a ride home while they fixed it. Also, Gene came to me to give me a very reasonable estimate. Highly recommend and will go back if I ever need to. 👏🏻

Davis Custom Auto & Paint should be avoided at all costs. Gene Davis gave me a written quote and estimate to repair my 1974 El Camino that had been struck by a deer. He took possession of my car on October 2, 2023. On July 12, 2024 my insurance company totaled the car. In that time frame Gene had completed only $572 worth of work and less than 2 hours of work performed. The insurance company paid him directly up front. What a mistake. This guy completely trashed my car. If you have a classic vehicle or any vehicle that you value - DON'T TAKE IT TO THIS GUY.

Scraped the right front bumper on my RAV turning into my garage (embarrassed to say). Got 2 estimates and so glad I picked Davis Custom Painting. Gene Davis was very accommodating and very reasonable. Work was done in a day and it looks great. I highly recommend Davis.
