Discovery Village Deerwood Assisted Living & Memory Care

From the minute we made the first phone call, Discovery Village Assisted Living and all those who work there became a part of our family! They quickly got us moved in and the additional care my mom needed to thrive. She had gone from barely able to walk and interact to being one of the most active members of the community. Every person who has supported us there has been amazing and has exceeded our expectations. We have had experience with other homes and this by far rises to the absolute top. I am open to anyone who has inquiries and am forever grateful to the wonderful people who make up Discovery Village. Thank you for making my mother smile, taking great care of her and giving her family peace of mind and so much more!

This place is terrible. Management is not management at all. Every time I visit the staff is always working short. Especially in memory care. The memory care manager has no experience whatsoever and doesn't properly communicate with her staff or us when we visit our love ones. I've witnessed Heidi watching her staff work like slaves during dinner while watching and smiling as I was feeding my father. Residents has been very combative towards other residents. My family member has had multiple scratches on his neck and face and also things has been stolen from him multiple times. AL manager Sherri don't even get me started, very unprofessional and rude. Rona is the pastry chef here and she is amazing!! Everything we have eaten that she has made has been wonderful. In the photo is an example…her homemade chocolate chip cookies. I don’t think you can find any that are better than this!

My now 92 year old widowed father has been living at Discovery Village at Deerwood since early July 2023. Quite discerning and not always an easy person to please, he is quite comfortable, content, and appreciative of the accommodations within the community. From my side, what I’ve found remarkable is the overall spirit, professionalism, warmth, empathy, openness, flexibility, and dedication of the staff, from top down and bottom up, including the room servers, nurses and assistants, wait staff, culinary servicers, activities and entertainment staff, faculties personnel, and management, all who work well with residents and one another, a good number who, along with various of the residents, are inspiring and excellent examples and role models in what they do and have to say. I don’t have any relatives or loved ones living here but I just felt compelled to write a google review….So I live across the street in an apartment complex and see an ambulance come there almost EVERY SINGLE DAY…and sometimes MORE THAN TWICE IN A NIGHT. This will be at the independent and/or the assisted/memory care center. An ambulance just entered there and is rushing away with its sirens ringing as I’m writing this. Coming from a medical professional the amount of times an ambulance and fire truck come rushing in this place is appalling . As a medical professional who works in a hospital I’ve seen more ambulances at this place than the own hospital I currently am employed at. Not sure if it’s people falling, chest pain, what have you. But something needs to be investigated. I know peop
