Our plane was delayed and I was tired from travel. Omar greeted me warmly and made the car rental process feel like I was with friends. He listened to what I needed for the weekend and gave me the perfect car for the job! He was personal and truly uplifted the travel experience. Dollar Car Rental is an incredible value. I had the most amazingly simple and efficient pickup at Portland Jetport last night. Greeted by an incredibly friendly and helpful young man (should have gotten his name). He made the pickup the easiest I have ever experienced. I rent cars on a revolving and regular basis all over the northeast. This was hand-down the best experience ever in the HISTORY of car rental companies! I will absolutely be checking Dollar before any other companies moving forward. I hope they prove to be the same at all locations

They push an insurance package on you and choose their words very carefully to make you think its mandatory. It is NOT. I pay $125 a MONTH for my personal insurance. Dollar thinks $300 for less than a WEEK is reasonable and sound customer service. I called to see if i could get a refund and was told you only have a 15 MINUTE window to change after getting the keys. I was told they would speak to a manager and call back. Of course, never received that call, because a few hundred bucks is worth more to this company than their reputation. Steer AWAY from this company.

The kind people at Dollar Car Rental came through for me at a tough time, my mother died that weekend, I was heading home to get my suit for the funeral and get my work/family taken care of. There were about a hundred or more people trying to get cars on a busy end of a Maine extended summer weekend in October. People were heated and one very important person cut line to inform the Dollar representatives he was a Gold/Platinum/Human Sacrifice level member who wanted to speak to the manager and demanded a rental car-even though people with online reservations weren't getting cars (at any of the rental car agencies, not just Dollar). The people at Dollar managed to come through for me despite the venom being directed at them from disgruntled, but very, very, important people. I was grateful

UPDATE: They made it right, would highly recommend this company! What I booked online is what I landed up paying! Will use them again! I booked online and carefully chose my coverages, and I got charged MUCH MORE than I originally signed up for, doubling the cost of my rental car, very discouraging to get taken for twice what I signed up for. I would advise AGAINST using this company, they stole from me.
