I've been going to Hamilton's since I moved to Portland, and will not go anywhere else. From quick ME State Inspections, to the bigger uglier issues they have been honest, break things down into Layman's terms, show you and or take pictures of the issue, are reasonably priced and there is never any pressure. I recently purchased a used car, and they even checked it over, before I bought it, free of charge. Just the best mechanic shop.

My car started acting up this summer while I was 2 hours away from home with my toddler. I couldn’t drive more than a few feet very slowly. Luckily I was close to this shop. As soon as I pulled in I was greeted very friendly and they immediately started looking at my car to see what was wrong. I was very frazzled being so far from home alone with my toddler and they helped ease my worry. They looked my car over, refilled my coolant, and only charged less than $10 for everything. To say I’m grateful would be an understatement. Thank you Hamilton’s! Couldn’t recommend them enough!

Hamilton Service Station is a great independent mechanic that I'm very glad I found. Hamilton checked three things that the local Toyota dealership had said urgently needed $6000 worth of repairs, including a lubricant leak and brakes that weren't working properly (though they seemed OK to me). It wasn't a good sign when I noticed that the Toyota dealership repair desk clearly didn't know the difference between the front differential and the transfer case on my Toyota AWD vehicle. These are in different places and use different fluids. Hamilton carefully checked things and said all the brakes are fine with quite a bit of wear left on them, and the transfer case with the very slow leak was still full of fluid, meaning it hadn't leaked any at all since at least two and a half months ago, so

One of the best and most honest mechanic shop that I ever went to. Extremely customer friendly and very patient. They explain what is problem in detail. Highly recommend it.

We were in Portland for only two nights and bound to go back home to Montreal when my wheelchair accessible van started to make a weird noise. We stopped at Hamilton Service Station and Dennis quickly checked my van and told us that we couldn’t go back home safely. Even tough it was a very busy Friday afternoon for him, he accepted to save us and fixed my van so we could back home safely as planned. Dennis is very professional and kind! Merci! Laurence
