Doug met her the next morning and towed her car to his shop in Boise (very reasonable). His diagnoses wasn’t standard, but he nailed it. Bright, honest, timely and a fantastic communicator. A+. I found Doug’s Automotive through a Facebook ad for a used transmission. We agreed on an incredibly fair price, and from the start Doug was great to work with. He was prompt with responses, answered the phone when I called, and communicated clearly throughout the process. Honestly, this was the best experience I’ve had with a mechanic in quite some time. I’ve tried a number of shops around the Treasure Valley and too often they either break more than they fix or charge you for a “diagnosis” of something you already told them was wrong. When Doug got into the repair, he quickly identified the actual problem along with a few other concerns and let me decide how I wanted to proceed. There was no pressure—just honest information.
