Doug’s Small Engine Repair

My Murray SnowBlower from Home Depot wouldn't start because it wasn't getting gas, so i tried to clean the carburetor. It was my first attempt at trying to fix a small engine on my own and i wasn't successful. I called Doug to inquire about service and explained what I had done. Doug stayed on the phone with me for 10 minutes and explained how I had to clean the carburetor and what i probably missed, which was sticking a wire up the center about 2" to clean the jet. Sure enough I re cleaned the carburetor and could feel the blockage in the center.with the wire. I put everything back together and the snowblower fired right up! Thanks Doug

I had a issue with my Toro snow blower its been sputtering and stalling so I went on Google looked up Small engine repair ,and a few popped up so I read the different reviews and Dougs had the most and best so after calling him and explaining the issue he said bring it in so I took it in on Tuesday and by Wednesday afternoon it was done, when I went to pick it up he went over what he did started it up and it ran great ,actually runs better now then when I bought it, so if your looking for a quality shop that takes pride in there work and gets the job done quick Doug is your man,no need to have your equipment tied up for weeks,I did your homework for you.

Brought in the carburetor from my 2001 Honda Rebel 250 for a cleaning. Small single carb for a small bike. Doug said it will be soaked for 24hrs and then put back together, will approximate the position of the jets based on when he took them out. Even brought a rebuild kit with jets and gaskets just in case, but he turned it down. $150. Picked it up, was told the pilot jet should be in about the same position. Installed it on my bike. Carb is now leaking from the bowl. Take it off, open it up, I see it's the original gasket, still caked in grime and brittle. Two of the bowl screws were stripped quite badly, but all were still torqued down. Which leads me to believe that they tried to get the bowl off, stripped the heads on two of them, and gave up. Excellent repair work on my 1987 John Deere 214 (completed in Sept. 2024). These Deere garden tractors are built to last and can be repaired. Originally trailered my 214 to Modern Mower (Mound and 15 Mile) and they said they don't work on items older than like 15 years old (something in that range). So, found Doug and so glad I did. My 214 engine is running like a champ now! I will bring any small engine work I need to Doug going forward. This is an old school, independent repair shop who cares about your stuff personally. He works from his home and was easy to bring my trailer and drop it off. Can't recommend this place enough!!!
