It is unfortunate that I am writing this review. I own a 2004 Ford Ranger with approximately 150,000 miles on it. The truck is in great condition and has been very reliable over the years. In October 2025, I began noticing a long crank issue, and by mid-November the truck would not start at all. After searching Google reviews for a reputable shop in the area, I decided to have my truck towed to Dowdy's Automotive in Star, Idaho. The shop diagnosed the issue as a faulty fuel pump and replaced it with my approval. Unfortunately, shortly after the repair, the long crank symptom returned. By the end of January 2026, the truck again would not start. I had it towed back to Dowdy’s. This time, they diagnosed a bad Mass Air Flow sensor and replaced it with my approval. I highly recommend Dowdy's for all your car repairs. My son’s truck had a coolant leak and I brought it in without an appointment and under the assumption of it being a bad water pump and not sure how long it would take to repair considering it was two days before Christmas. It ended up being a bad heater hose. Scott is super nice, helpful and is a pleasure to deal with. The communication is outstanding and they were able to repair my son’s truck that day. Scott even honored an expired coupon that I had. I will definitely be taking my cars back to Dowdy’s in Star for all my cars maintenance and repairs. The repair costs are also very reasonable. I will also recommend my family and friends to Dowdy’s. This place is top notch!

I will definitely be coming back here again! Good, honest people. Great customer service. They were even able to save me some money and shaved $400 off what they had quoted me when I dropped off my car.

Called to ask for estimate for repairs for our company truck and they were fast with the estimate and very reasonable on price. They booked us the next morning and we picked up the truck before noon. Absolutely recommend.
