So this is the letter I was planning on writing them directly or possibly the better Business bureau. To Whom It May Concern: I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against Ellis Auto Sales & Service, Chapman Highway, Seymour, TN, regarding work performed on my truck in [Month, Year]. Summary of Events My vehicle was running smoothly before I took it in. I was charged approximately $1,100 for what I was told was a “tune-up” (oil, oil filter, spark plugs, rear brake pads, etc.). Within three weeks of their work, my truck was dead in my driveway. Upon later inspection by another mechanic, it was found that: The oil filter seal had been twisted, suggesting it was not properly installed. A bolt was missing near the oil pan area.
