Enterprise Rent-A-Car

I had booked this location for a compact SUV pickup last month for my 5-day road trip at the end of last year. The staff was very friendly and communicative, i was told to choose between a Hyundai Venue and a Ford Escape and picked the Hyundai car. Everything was fine until late evening when we started experiencing some foul smell emanating from the ac vents. At first, we thought it was something coming from the outside. Unfortunately it kept coming and we had to switch off the ac. I stopped and called the enterprise customer care for a replacement car (Nissan Rogue) and they asked me to pickup it up in their nearest location. “I rented a vehicle from Enterprise at Newark Airport. Friday, January 18, 2026, occurred during a snowstorm, and the roads were snowy and slippery. The vehicle was not equipped for those conditions. I contacted Enterprise and was advised to exchange the car at a location on Route 59, which was listed as open. When I arrived at approximately 10:30 a.m., no one was there. A worker was outside cleaning cars and stated that they did not have access to open the location, and no other staff arrived. I called Enterprise again and was instructed to return to the airport to exchange the vehicle. I did not feel safe driving the car under those conditions. On Monday, I stayed local and the car was fine. When I returned the vehicle on Thursday, the manager, Nick, was exceptional and credited me $175.

The initial rental pick up experience from Newark, NJ was very disappointing. The check in was routine but so much information wasn’t provided at the initial time of booking that left me feeling like I was ill prepared and caught off guard at check in. The service rep at the front desk was nice; he wasn’t to blame for the misinformation I felt I received about the insurance coverage or the fees associated with rental costs because I was returning the car in another State. The process of obtaining a car was horrible; I was basically told to choose any car in a certain section and leave the premises. No one did an inspection or gave any instructions on the cars. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the exceptional staff at Enterprise in Newark International Airport. I arrived from Mexico on February 4th, and they provided me with the most outstanding service imaginable. I had made my reservation over the phone, I believe through the corporate call center. During that call, I was not informed that a credit card was required for the deposit; I was told that a debit card would suffice. Upon my arrival, I discovered I couldn't secure my rental due to the credit card policy. I want to hightlight our experience with this location at Newark Airport EWR. After a long and stressful day our missionary group arrived late in the night, stressed out about a delay on our flight and thinking that we missed the reservation. But thankfully God always put angels on our path and we were attentively attended by Renee, a beautiful young lady, who looks like an actual angel and helped us out to complete our reservation and went beyond on upgrading for us a more spacious vehicle, for us to drive back to CT (3 more hours).
