Folsom Lake Towing

Posting this so others know what they may be dealing with. My car was towed on 12/8/2025 from Sutter Street in Folsom during Christmas event setup. I understand it was a posted tow-away zone and I take responsibility for parking there. What I don’t agree with is the $750 charge to get my car back. Based on 2025 national pricing from The Zebra, the average cost for a basic tow is about $109, and standard vehicle storage typically runs $30–$80 per day. Even accounting for towing and short-term storage, a reasonable total would normally be a few hundred dollars. Charging $750 for a routine tow and brief hold is price gouging. Hope you never have to deal with this place. I was going to call it a business but it's more like an Outfit or a Racket, ya know, like a just barely legal crime organization. They (somehow staying just within the definition of the word) "legally" steal you property and then hold it ransom like a hostage negotiation. If you can't come up with the demanded amount of money "Ransom" (which increases the longer you make them wait) then kiss your property goodbye. They took my vehicle and my trailer(which was pad-locked to my car with $2000 worth of my tools on it. My mom’s car was impounded from an incident and while we were trying to release it the middle aged lady with the tattoos was extremely rude and dismissive the entire time. When it came to paying the fee we had no issue paying for it but when she was telling us about the policy of the registered owner needing to be on the credit card holder name or we can use cash, she was giving us even more of an attitude. When I tried to make sense of the policy and ask more questions, she was dismissing us even more. I didn’t bother to argue or be rude so I just told her I’ll go grab some cash. The elderly woman who “helped” us was genuinely awful. She talks over you, is rude and has the worst attitude when dealing with respectful people. Being nice to her was a mistake. She charged $702 to get the car back that had not stayed a full 24 hours. She lied about allowing us to get registration from car for a fee and then said could not let us but did not give a reason. Also claimed car was not able to be driven for NO REASON. Car was totally fine. Made this a big, unnecessary and stressful situation. I hope this company rots, you guys should be ashamed of yourselves. Learn how to run a respectable business and stop treating everyone rudely. WE ARE NOT ALL WE THE SAME.
