From start to finish, the service was professional and straightforward — no pressure, no upselling, just real work done right. They fixed my transmission and the car now runs perfectly. Turnaround time was fair, pricing was reasonable, and the quality of work speaks for itself. It’s hard to find shops you can truly trust, but Howard and his team are the real deal. I was referred to this transmission shop by a friend and I'm so glad I took my truck. Howard and the team were knowledgeable, friendly, and transparent about the process. They brought life back to my car that I hadn’t felt in years. I needed a full transmission rebuild, and they also helped with my axles and shafts. When I took it for a test drive, the responsiveness shocked me. There was power and agility that I hadn't felt since the car was new. I couldn’t stop smiling, it was genuinely amazing to enjoy my baby again. I felt like I was reunited with my old friend. Car people will understand. They gave me a great price on everything. These guys know their craft and were very nice to deal with. If you’re getting a full rebuild like me, keep in mind that it can take a few weeks, especially with additional repairs. Plan ahead for alternate transportation while they do their work.

We first met Howard of Fred’s Transmission World a year ago when our van broke down in Virginia. When the dealership in Virginia was unable to repair our van after 10 weeks, we towed the van to Howard. He took complete and excellent care of all necessary work on the transmission. Our van has been running smoothly ever since! Recently, our Toyota had trouble shifting in reverse. We brought the car to Howard and after a complete check, we were advised that a new transmission was needed. Howard again took excellent care of our car. I came to Fred's for my daughter's Xterra, turned out it had transmission and radiator problem, must have been there when purchased used from a private seller a few months ago, not disclosed. Initially went to a local transmission place (TT) and they charged me just to check codes. When I went for another opinion, the shop told me all the problems it had including, that the radiator was leaking into the transmission. Don't know why the first place (TT) did not tell me that. Fred's was my third opinion, took time to explain the best and worst case scenarios. It was not the price (more than I paid for the truck) I wanted due to the amount of damage antifreeze does to but Howie and Don took care of the car including fixing some other issues and stood by warranty when another code came back.
