Amazing service! Darren diagnosed the problem with my Saab and save me money on the repair. He also did an excellent brake job. I was so impressed with him I brought my BMW M3 E46 to him for service as well after learning that he’s been serving them for years. He saved me money on the repair and did an excellent job. I would definitely recommend Darren for any repair work.

Overcharged me for a compression test for only 2 cylinders and wants $400.00 for it. Filing a complaint with the Attorney General. NOT RECOMMENDED!! The truth is, after I was told the engine was no good, we had an agreement that he would replace the engine but told me he was very busy and it would take awhile before he could get to it. So I waited, but then after 3 months he decided not to do the job. I paid him $200. for a test that took him about 30 minutes and brought the car to another mechanic. Also the engine had oil but was leaking, as I told him. He may give price breaks to his friends but if you're new, you get ripped off!

Was referred here but will never go to Gauthier Motorworks again. Darren, the owner charged me excessively just to look at my car, and clearly dishonest on his labor charge just to diagnose the problem that I already knew was the issue. He may no what he is doing, but beware you will be spending MUCH more than any shop around. I got multiple quotes to fix my issue for almost half of what Darren charged, and at more reputable mechanics. He also refused to give me my keys when I wanted to leave and insisted I pay a fee when all I wanted was a quick quote. Careful around this guy... UPDATE: After an $800 quote from Darren to replace my radiator (along with a charge for estimate), I brought it to another shop which fixed the problem for $140. Very glad I got a second opinion as his diagnosis

Darren is a top notch guy and somehow an even better mechanic. Honest evaluations and doesn't push unnecessary work. Great rates too, definitely my go to BMW mechanic.

Darren has kept 4 of our cars on the road for over 200,000 miles. By far the best mechanic on the North Shore, but if it ain't German, you are out of luck.
