“Good Guys Auto” is pretty funny. Imagine a bank called “Nice Free Money”. Sorry to all the honest mechanics out there… Anyway, I was traveling through and luckily got a whole chunk of gravel through the center of a rental’s tire. It wasn’t repairable, but they tried their best and were personable and helpful. Greatly appreciated service for a likely-one-time customer. Plus, the bestest shop dog, hard at work greeting customers!

It was my first time here, and I came during a snowstorm for my scheduled appointment with my baby. Unfortunately, the owner was extremely rude to me and even told me to leave. I’ve never experienced anything like that in upstate, where people are usually much kinder. The issue was that their internet was down, so they couldn’t do inspections. While I completely understand that things happen, what bothered me was the lack of basic courtesy—no apology, no empathy, and no acknowledgment of the inconvenience, especially considering I drove there in a snowstorm with my baby. The way I was treated made me feel both unwelcome and unfairly dismissed. I do appreciate the other employee who helped me with my appointment when I decided to wait and internet came back eventually.

I don’t live in Saugerties anymore but make a point to take my car into these guys for anything more than basic oil changes. They’re honest, do great work, and don’t try to upsell or do anything unnecessary.

“Good Guys” is an understatement! I brought my Grand Cherokee in for a new catback exhaust, alignment, oil change and inspection. They were timely, professional and the prices were very fair. They’ve earned my trust.

Really should be called the Great Guys. I brought my car in at the recommendation of a couple of different friends as well as local Facebook community group members. They were fair and honest, which is not always easy to find with auto mechanics. They also did my oil change for less than another plan I have gone that was a franchise. I highly recommend Good Guys to anyone needing a trustworthy place to bring their vehicle.
