Gordie's Automotive Repair

I live in Maine and was visiting my son in Holden when my car decided to get sick. Gordie's got me in the same day, which was great because otherwise I wouldn't be able to get back to Maine. It was an odd issue (at least for me): I was unable to add any fuel to the gas tank. The great mechanics at Gordie's had it diagnosed, fixed and tested in under an hour. Great service, great attitude, great value - I wish this garage would move to Maine!

Update: Thank you for the prompt reply. This is the first I am hearing that rust was the reason this shield broke off. Would you be able to advise as to why I wasn’t told about this rust when I first got my oil change on 11/12 or today, 12/09? I went in for an oil change on 11/12. During this oil change, the oil shield that runs the bottom of my car was not put back on correctly. This caused it to fall off on 12/06 while driving. I brought the car back on 12/09 to be fixed. The solution offered to me by Gordie’s was to zip tie the broken part back onto my car and advise me that if I want a new one, I will have to pay for it. I brought my truck in because my muffler was hanging off. I secured the muffler with something cheap from AutoZone. When I brought it in they said they would resecure and weld it .When I went to go pick up my truck. He said it was all set so I checked the muffler and the same hardware was still on my muffler, but I was charged $150??? I went back in to ask what work was done and he said it was secured. I made them put it back on the lift to show me what was done and they said they tightened whatever was on there. Which was just a cheap U bracket I bought...150$ to tighten two bolts? When I was told they would weld something to secure it. they had to put my truck back on the lift take off the rusted off hardware I put on myself. And weld a piece to secure my muffler had I not look the same

Maybe great mechanics but I stopped to see if they could get a diagnostic for a check engine light and they wanted ~ $90 for it. Went down the road to another mechanic who did it no charge. I expect to pay for their time, but this , for me, illustrated a less than honest business practice that's disrespectful and so I would not trust them for actual mechanic work. There are other great shops close by who would not price gouge for something like that. NB: As per the reply of the shop, I have never had anyone tell me I couldn't understand the codes and of course they didn't explain this when I stopped in and asked. If I was just a silly consumer to them who doesn't understand their car, that tells me even more about the shop and further informs my opinion. I stand by my review and my expe
