Gregory's General Auto Repair

We were on our way home from seeing our girl at school and our car began to act up. We looked for an automotive spot and was told it was open, only to go out of our way to find it is closed. Change your hours or close your business. People rely on accuracy when doing business and this isn’t professional. Thanks for nothing. Our car is worse now and we aren’t from here, the nearest open spot is MILES from where we are now. Great.

Husbands car broke down driving from PA to NC. AAA towed him to Gregory’s in Amherst. Couldn’t have asked for a more honest and knowledgeable person than Greg! He spent about 40 minutes with him - did a thorough check, test drove the car, deemed it safe for him to continue home and made some recommendations on how he should get the car serviced. And didn’t charge for his services. A true gentleman.

So being new to Amherst County we were looking for a garage for general auto repairs. Gregory's Auto Repair was suggested. Our first experience was such a positive experience and we felt like our business was appreciated and cost effective. The second time we took our Escape in only part of the work was completed but we were told he "didn't want to touch that." We are fine with this since it was a specialty job. Last week we scheduled an appointment for this week. We accepted the time we were given, dropped off my Escape the night before and waited until late in the afternoon to see if a simple oil change, fuel filter change and a belt replaced had been completed for our pickup only to be told nothing was done. We were told we could pick it up the following day. That might be fine

We were driving from N.Y. state to NC and began to hear lots of noise from our front passenger tire. We stopped at an auto parts store, determined it was the wheel bearing and tried to change the hub assembly ourself, but we're unable to because of not having the correct tools. We limped on a few more miles to Amherst and got a motel as it was already late. In the morning we called a couple places to see if anyone could change it and get us back on the road. The first shop said no, Gregory said next week, but when we explained the problem he said bring it on in and I will get you fixed. It was a great experience. He sent us next door to Edith's to eat while we waited and sent us a ride over when he was done. In the time it took us to eat and pay, my truck was done and road ready! He even g

My husband and I had just moved into the area and needed to get our truck inspected. Service was fast and good value, and the guys were very friendly and professional. When I think of small town local business, I think of this place!
