Group 1 Ford of South Austin Service Center

Usually take my Ford Maverick to a different dealership, but wanted to compare. So when I needed an oil change, took it here. Despite the service plan stating you only need to change oil every 10K, after doing some research, I decided to change every 5K since a good portion of my driving is towing. The oil change itself seemed to go fine, no issues post oil change. There were two things from my visit that prompted this review so that others can be informed to ask questions and do some verification since I had read many mixed reviews about the service department. 1) Was asked if I wanted an alignment, to which I asked if it needed one. Kenny G is an outstanding salesman. Even though he’s young, he carries himself with a level of professionalism and respect that immediately builds trust. He was knowledgeable, patient, and never pushy, which made the whole experience smooth and comfortable. I am deeply disappointed with the service I received from Maxwell Ford’s service department. Recently, the front wheel of my 2018 Ford F-150 Platinum detached while I was driving, posing a serious safety risk to me and my family. A nut, holding the upper control arm to my wheel, literally unscrewed (images below). When I approached the service department for help, I was shocked to learn that they were denying my warranty claim, citing the leveling kit as the reason despite the fact that the leveling kit, which Maxwell Ford recommended and installed at the time of purchase.This feels like a bait and switch, as the leveling kit was suggested and installed by their own team. Phone customer service is terrible. Told me they could verify my warranty information and then went on not being able to tell me if doing a typical diagnosis would require me to leave my car for longer than 24 hrs. Which then just left a bad taste for me. I called the Ford in Buda and right away had a great and honest conversation with their service team. To my vehicle to them.

Service agent JC was awesome! He stayed in contact with me throughout the entire process, helped me out with a rental, and went above and beyond with everything concerning my car. He will absolutely be my go-to guy at Ford from now on.
