I grew up in this town. My parents took their vehicles here. As I write this I'm sitting in Minneapolis and my daughter is attending grad school in Madison. We had some things that needed attention on the car she drives. I've been nothing but impressed and pleased with my interactions at this shop. They are addressing all of my concerns and not pressuring me into things that I'm able to do myself or things that are not needed. Incredible communication and customer service. It's comforting knowing my daughter is being taken care of and I'm able to work with Helwig Auto 300 miles away. Great experience (and my car is still on the lift as I write this)!!

Faulty oil change For the past 10+ years I’ve gotten oil changes done at a place in Madison, but I’m not in that area as often anymore so I wanted to try a different place closer to home that was not a chain. I spent quite a bit of time researching and reading reviews and selected Helwig’s. Scheduling and vehicle drop off were fine - good customer service. The conventional oil change was $60 compared to the $42.50 that I paid at the place in Madison, but I knew a smaller, non-chain, shop would be more expensive. I had the oil change done on October 9, 2024. On December 5, 2024 (~1,650 miles driven since the oil change), I started my car to go to work. As always, incredible customer service and quality work. I brought my car in because it wasn't running quite right, and the team quickly diagnosed and fixed the issue. I really appreciated the convenience of getting a text when it was ready and being able to review and pay the invoice right from my phone. I highly recommend them for their expertise, efficiency, and consistently smooth service.

I was just driving by on the highway and my truck had a sudden problem. Helwig’s got me in right away, even 5 minutes before they normally opened. They were able to get the part that was needed quickly and install it. Got me back on the road in 2 hours and very fair price. Great service and friendly people!
