Hertz Car Rental - Buford - Buford Drive

I'm surprised by the overall ratings for this location. My reservation was ready. I was given a brand new car. I had a situation with a breakdown, and it was handled properly. I'm just a lucky person.

I consistently use this location for my rentals. Vehicle options meet my needs and consistently have low mileage and are in good condition. On this recent rental, Micah was helpful prior to the pickup and again upon the return. He demonstrates what excellent customer service looks like...friendly, positive attitude, customer focused, answers any questions and provides good information.

Worst experience ever with a rental company. When I arrived at the office for pick up there was already a line and no one behind the counter. When I finally was able to speak to the one person working at that office she went to get my rental. The car was filthy, there was a half removed sticker on the driver window (likely a parking violation ticket), there was sand everywhere and the seats were nasty. I do not recommend this place at all. Save yourself a headache and book somewhere else.

I was signed up for a vehicle upgrade without my knowledge even though I was placed in sub compact car. The heavy set gentleman said the $40 charge would only be a one time fee but every time I renew there’s the $40 charge for a vehicle upgrade on a new rental agreement. Still until this day no one can explain why I’m being charged a vehicle upgrade. Once I brought this to his attention I was instructed to take my business elsewhere specifically to Avis Enterprise or Budget. There solution was to refund and wait for my return and give them another deposit to start another rental agreement. So $690 for a rental for one day was there solution.

Them partnering with different booking websites and then charging more than what was promised is asinine. Also being upfront of what they expect you to pay in deposit as well as rental may save them the headache as well as the people trying to rent a car. A change in policy should be looked into, I'm willing to pay but them not accepting debit and expecting everyone to just have a credit card with a high credit limit is insane, why not take money I actually have rather than a credit card. Can't fault the workers but can definitely fault the company.
