Hertz Car Rental - East Moline - Avenue Of The Cities

I was anxious renting from this location after I saw some of the previous reviews but I had a great experience. I returned the car clean with a full tank of gas and did not experience any extra charges or fees. Everything went smoothly and they were friendly.

Car wasn't full when, I picked it up. Hertz employee acknowledged that fact.i returned the vehicle with more gas than if had when I picked it up, and was still charged for fuel.

They will lie and charge you all kinds of fees on your credit card after you've done everything you're supposed to when you return your car without warning. I asked about all the fees I had read online that they were charging people and that I was a little leery of renting from them and it all came true for me sad... no one has a right to take anything from your credit card without first notifying you and this is not the end of it.

I've always had excellent customer service at the Hertz East Moline location. However, the office has been closed since March 20, 2025, and I miss having the convenience of a car rental service only a few blocks from where I live. Really hoping the East Moline location opens soon.

Customer service at this place is nonexistent. Despite making a reservation for a car days in advance--and getting confirmation of said reservation--I was left stranded and unable to get anyone on the phone. When I went to the office, I was first told that someone left me a voicemail (they did not) and then told their phones were down. I was told there were no cars available, despite having a reservation, and I should come back the following morning at 8:30 and they would have a car available. There was no car available the next morning, and they told me they MIGHT have something later in the afternoon. Both women I spoke to at the office acted as if I was out of line thinking my reservation meant I would actually get a rental vehicle. They had no problem charging my credit card, thoug
