Hertz Car Rental - Gilbert - N Mcqueen Road

I booked a reservation for a cargo van weeks in advance. Received reminder msg's consistently up until yesterday. Took Uber to pick up van today. When I arrived I was told Sanjay Mishra they didn't have the van I reserved, they only had an electric one and would that work. Umm, NO - that will not work. This location didn't even have the basic courtesy to advise they didn't have the vehicle I reserved until I arrived to pick it up. Seriously? I should have read the reviews on this location. Seems to be a trend. Sanjay Mishra could have cared less of the impact his incompetence caused. Completely oblivious! STAY AWAY from this location. Unprofessional, completely incompetent and extremely rude. Hertz should be embarrassed by how this location is representing them. Who hires these people???

The help at the front desk was nice enough. Only one employee working, so it was slower. Biggest issue was drop off. Upon getting my close out invoice/receipt it showed a fuel charge for $14.99. I did take photos/video at time of drop off to PROVE that the tank was full AND to document/have proof on mileage, etc. Such a scam! See photos below. I would NOT recommend this place. I should have learned from previous reviews, but took the chance on a local location instead of driving to the airport. 10/10 don't recommend.

Showed up 20 minutes early. I’m here nearly half an hour after the scheduled time (50 minute wait). Overheard them not honoring another customers reservation and blaming third party booking sites, saying that they just hand out reservations without checking what’s available- that doesn’t sound accurate and if it is they should find a way to resolve it. Only got worse from there. After another ten minutes the car finally got back and they finally started doing paperwork. They wouldn’t take Apple Pay for the deposit despite their machines and signs saying they did. I had to clear a balance on a physical card and the staff got mouthy. I told him to settle down and he got more upset and said he could just cancel the whole thing. I admit that I matched his language and attitude and got mouthy

Scammer- shows they have cars available, you make a reservation and then are told they only have more expensive cars available. Then try to force you to pay the difference. Luckily, I was able to cancel and not pay. Gentleman outside said he wasn't as fortunate. Their poor rating is for a reason.

I am expressing my frustration and disappointment regarding a failed vehicle pickup today, caused entirely by your staff’s failure to honor the confirmed pickup time. I was explicitly instructed via email to arrive at 5:00 PM to collect my rental vehicle. I arrived promptly at 4:58 PM, only to find the location already closed. A woman was locking the door and, when approached, refused to assist me—stating she had to leave to pick up her child, her tone was condescending, dismissive, and outright rude! Despite arriving before the scheduled time, I was denied service. I prepaid for this rental in good faith, only to be left without a vehicle due to your team’s disregard for the confirmed pickup schedule.
