Hertz Car Rental - Gunnison - Gunnison-crested Butte Regional Airport (GUC)

Never will I rent from Hertz again. Customer is unbearable. Never will answer the phone (NEVER) go to another rental company for sure. Beware of Hertz. This is true reminder never rent from them.

Hertz at Gunnison Airport helped us out with switching vehicles when we got a flat, saving us a lot of time and headache. Details: Rented a car from Denver airport's Hertz and visited Crested Butte while on vacation. Turned the car on in the morning and got a low tire pressure warning. Found a bolt lodged in one of the tires right next to the tire wall. The options with a flat on a rental are to take it to a shop and get a new tire with approval from the rental company, or to switch out vehicles. No mechanics in Crested Butte had replacement tires and would need to keep the vehicle for repair overnight even if they did. We opted to put on the spare ourselves and drove it to the closest Hertz which was this one in Gunnison. The phone operator handled everything for us by contacting Hertz

Good price, easy pick up and return of vehicle. Car was new and no worries about extra charges or scams you get from low cost rental agencies.

Access to vehicle was quick and easy. Lease agent was friendly and professional. Vehicle was spotless and met our needs during our trip.

I highly recommend avoiding Hertz car rental! I made a reservation so my vehicle could get repaired. When booking the reservation there was an option to be picked up. So I planned to be picked up from the vehicle repair shop in the morning. When the scheduled time had passed for them to pick me up, I called only to find out they don’t offer pick up service (even though you can schedule it on their website) and they didn’t even have a vehicle for me to rent!! This left me in a huge bind as I had a baby and kids to shuffle throughout the day. It’s extremely unprofessional and just flat out rude to accept a reservation and then leave someone hanging the same day with no means of transportation. They are in the car rental industry right?! If I would have had a bit of notice I could have made
