Hertz Car Rental - Mechanicsburg - Carlisle Pike

***BEWARE OF LARRY!!!*** I reserved a vehicle for today, but was late picking it up. Larry called me to ask if I was still interested in picking up the car, and I told him yes. I showed up to pick up the vehicle, and Larry said he rented out my economy vehicle and had a Jeep Compass available, which he would have to charge me extra for. I told him no. That defeats the purpose of the reservation. He then told me repeatedly that he did not have to rent me a car at all. I pacified, de-escalated, and redirected Larry as much as I could, while explaining that I am not in the mood to go back and forth or argue. I asked for a manager, and he said he was the manager. Had a great experience at the Hertz location in Mechanicsburg. The staff is super friendly, professional, and always helpful, making the rental process quick and stress-free. They explain everything clearly and make it easy every time. The cars are always clean and in great shape. Looking forward to my rental on Jan 14 thanks to the whole team, really appreciate you all!

If I could give less than one star that would be my rating. I recently had a horrible experience with Hertz Car Rental. From the moment I arrived to pick up my rental, things went downhill. Despite having a confirmed reservation, upon arrival I was given a dirty vehicle that smell like cigarettes. I refused the vehicle and asked for another vehicle. After another 30 minute wait , I was given another vehicle, when asked why such a long wait for another vehicle the manger Justin mentioned that he had to get the car cleaned. As soon as I entered the vehicle it was clear that the care had not been cleaned, there was dust everywhere the steering wheel had sticky gunk on it, there was a snack wrapper sitting in the back seat. Went to pick up car rental. They were to open at 730. At my 8 am pickup they were closed and I received no notification. I tried to call and no answer. I called the 1800 number and got someone I could not understand. I was able to cancel reservation but I still need to travel. So frustrating!!

After the car was returned, they put an unexplained $249 hold on my bank account 5 days later. No explanation, no email or phone call, nothing. No one picked up at the local branch - the call just bounced to the beyond worthless national 800 #. NEVER rent from this place. EDIT: went to the support link provided below.
