Hertz Car Rental - Memphis - Getwell Road

It’s a reason these reviews are so low and these reviews are true. This place is extremely unprofessional. The staff is rude and lazy. Employee stayed on personal phones texting while a group of us waited to be seen. I will be contacting corporate. I have already submitted a formal complaint online directly to hertz and I won’t stop until something is done. I was also denied a rental because I didn’t have a copy of my personal insurance not once I’ve been required that at other locations and it is not listed as a document on hertz website anywhere required to rent a vehicle. But the employee deliberately used this policy that she said was established by their manager after I expressed my displeasure for their poor service. I had a disappointing experience at the Hertz Getwell Road location in Memphis, TN. An issue with my rental arose, and when I raised the concern, it was left unresolved by the branch. I had no other option than to determine the next steps on my own. I ultimately identified and initiated steps to address and properly resolve the situation, assuming the burden of responsibility. The vehicle was returned in excellent condition (clean, full tank of gas, fully operational, clear dashboard, and exactly as received) yet an additional $150 fee appeared on my bill without evidence or justification, connected to the original issue I brought to their attention. This location is so unprofessional. I came in stating that I had a reservation and this lady was already defensive asking me to repeat myself. She then told me there were no reservations available. Explain to me how you can book something online and come in to zero cars available to you? These people made everything much harder than it needed to be. If you can avoid this location, please do.

The employee that rented me a vehicle was polite, but the vehicle selection was slim. The vehicle she end up giving me had not been cleaned and did not have any fuel. Also, the GPS did not function. When I called the location about the issue, I was put on hold and eventually hung-up on. When it was time to return the vehicle, I attempted to return the vehicle after work, but the location was closed and didn't offer after hour returns. The location needs to have better signage for pickup and return.

I prebooked a vehicle from this location online. We reserved a midsize SUV and paid for it upfront. The day of the reserved pickup my wife was running behind, waiting in an Uber. I called the location an hour prior to let them know she would be about 20 min late for the pickup appointment. They then asked me what size vehicle we had reserved, I stated a midosze SUV. They then told me that they had no vehicles like that available. I reminded them that I prebooked this online a week prior. The lady just said, well the only thing close to that we have is a minivan. She went on to say that if we went with the van we would have to pay an upcharge. Which seems ridiculous when it's not my fault you didn't have the vehicle you said you would have.
