Hertz Car Rental - Shelton - Bridgeport Avenue

My partner and I had a reservation booked for 10:00 a.m. at this location on 10/30, which was made over a week in advance. Upon arriving at 10:00 a.m., the girl at the front desk stated that she had no cars available and that she was about to cancel the reservation because they had overbooked. We received no prior notification before arriving, and the Shelton location did not answer calls in the days leading up to the reservation. The girl was extremely rude and stated that there was no manager to speak with, saying, “it’s not my problem.” Then when asked again stated the manager’s name was Steve. She also stated that she had not yet gotten to canceling our reservation (at 10:00 a.m.). When contacting the Hertz corporate office 1.5 hours later, the reservation still had not been canceled.

Thank you to the excellent Hertz employee who helped me and my brother yesterday with returning two cars and renting another! I'm sorry I missed her name, but she was professional, friendly, and really great -- we really appreciated the top-notch customer service she provided. Cheers!

Tonya was the greatest person to help me through. I was very nervous. Haven’t rented a car before, but my car broke down probably can’t be fixed and I was very upset. She made me feel relaxed and I could do this. I love the car too. It was a Chevrolet track easy to handle beautiful. I wanna buy one just like it lol🙋‍♀️

Let me start off by saing I am going to try the Fairfield CT 720 post rd location and if nothing changes I will be looking for a new company to do business with. Ihave lost money, missed work all over a rental I returned on Saturday January 17 2026. I need to rent a car to get to work by4:30pm in order ot make it to work tomorrow and avoid losing any more money and risk losing my job. All I need is my Deposit back which is my money. A refund for the charges from January 13 th till January 17th would be nice. Also PLEASE CLOSE THIS RENAL RECORD SO THAT I CAN RECEIVE MY DEPOSIT BACK ASAP. I need my job.

I want to personally thank Tanya at the Shelton location for her professionalism and courtesy. She ensured my reservation was fulfilled despite some challenges. Was a pleasure working with her!
