Hertz Car Rental - Venice - Us Highway 41 Bypass South

Made a reservation on October 2nd 8am, for Friday October 3rd. Arrive Friday October 3rd at 8:02, door closed. Guy unlocks, doesn't open the door for me, ok fine... Income in, not even a hello. He sits at counter, I stand at counter with credit card and license, 3 minutes of pure silence, asks me my name and proceeds to tell me he has NO FLEET available. Uhm, no cars and basically that's it. That he has to call around and that so many people made appointments when he was closed, blah blah blah. So, if you are wondering how the process is here, that's my Personal experience. Very unfortunate as I truly needed the car for today, so I'm left stranded. Hope this helps.

Joe at this location was excellent and super helpful. Due to a change in travel plans I was able to move my flight and wanted to drop my car off at this location instead of Tampa. After getting no help from the general numbers and chat services online I decided to drive to this location to see if I could leave it there. Joe was excellent in helping to take the car back at that location and providing great service. Very appreciative of his help and making my morning less stressful.

I had such a great experience returning my rental car a day early at a different Florida location while juggling travel with my daughter and making last-minute changes due to bad weather back home. Joe Jenkins, the manager, was truly exceptional—professional, knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely kind. He went above and beyond to help make a stressful situation so much easier, even calling me after I had dropped the car off to let me know how he was able to help me further. That level of care and follow-through is rare, and it made a real difference in our travel experience. I can’t thank Joe enough!! an all around great guy and outstanding customer service.

I reserved a vehicle through this Hertz location and was called on the day of my reservation to say it was canceled. I booked online on a Sunday while the location was closed, but the system should not allow reservations for cars that are not actually available. Canceling a confirmed reservation the day it is needed is extremely frustrating. On top of that, the person who called was extremely rude and showed no effort in trying to offer other solutions. Avis down the street was extremely helpful and accommodating. Would highly recommend checking them out instead!

Rented a car through Expedia and was willing to pay more bc they supposedly have a good reputation with no hidden charges and fees. I found this to be totally false. Ended up being charged $200 extra at drop off for unexpected miscellaneous fees which was almost as much as the initial rental of $350!! Horrible!! Never again.
