Island Tire & Automotive Services - North End

Had an unfortunate experience at Island Tire. Took my vehicle in because one tire was struggling to hold air especially with temperature changes. Island Tire assured me that it wasn’t a nail, etc. and was just a faulty valve. Had a 4-hour drive the next day and upon loading the car to leave, the air had receded to previous levels. Thankfully we made it home safely and took it to a shop at home which revealed there was a nail in the tire the entire time. Fortunately only paid ~$45 at Island and made it home, but am disappointed they didn’t see the nail when I brought it in to be inspected. Had to completely replace the tire after returning home.

MISDIAGNOSIS ALMOST COST ME THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS REVIEW FROM SEPTEMBER 2025 I stopped into Island Tire North for a tire rotation and alignment. I had purchased a set of tires in 2024 from Island Tire South and was happy with the service I received there. I was very surprised when they came to me with additional suggested work. The additional work suggested was (see attached estimate): - Replace both front lower control arms and ball joints. - Replace rear lateral arms - Reprogram all lane keep and centering cameras. The estimate for the work was $3448.57. I was very surprised and skeptical to hear this type of work being needed on a car with only 60k of mostly highway miles. I did not have the work done. Island Auto Service truly saved our vacation last week in Hilton Head! We woke up to a flat tire, and they were incredibly quick and helpful. While the tire couldn't be patched, they had fair pricing for a new one and got us back on the road all in the same day. Highly recommend!

Our vehicle began overheating when we arrived in Hilton Head for vacation. The team quickly diagnosed the issue, found a leak, and replaced the radiator hoses. They had the car ready the very next day. Excellent service—we were able to enjoy our trip without worrying about the ride home.

Great lot to deal with! Made an appointment for my wheels and was out in under an hour. I was nervous having to drive to NY the next day and they got my wheels balanced and I was back in NY in no time. Thank you!!
