We loved to Decatur 18 months ago and needed to find an auto shop we trusted. I went off Google reviews. My 2014 Camry was shaking at 45 mph, and Jim said it was the torque converter and needed a transmission. I looked around, and transmissions were $5000-8000, depending on new or used. Jim found a used, 50k mile transmission and I stalled it for far less, including the recall for Toyota so the torque converter wouldn't go bad again. The rusted out transaxle needed replacement as well. We trusted him enough to drive to VT and CT and back a month later and it did great. Good as new! I'd highly recommend him. Honest, competent, and a good guy.

Absolutely love this place. They are honest, reasonable priced, and fast. They had me in and out quickly. The longest part was waiting for the delivery which Jim called them and asked where's my part. Shortly after delivered, and had me out quickly.

Jim worked on my vehicle a few times and I would recommend him and his son if you need something done. Barding's auto repair is in the same building Don and Jim will always be my choice.

It was nice that they squeezed by car in and got it done quickly but they broke my ABS sensor when fixing my breaks. I went directly in to tell them “hey why is the abs light on and it made a weird noise”. He tried to tell me the light was already on. Which is a lie because my son and I drive the car and it was not, plus I had just had it at a different mechanic for an estimate way before this. All I’m saying is it’s better to be honest! I realize mistakes happen but be honest! I now have to have this fixed!($200-400!).
