I can't say enough great things about J's Garage and Transmissions in Amarillo, Texas! They recently fixed the heater and heated seats in my vehicle, and they had everything done in less than a week. Their work is top-notch, reliable, and they always go above and beyond. Knowing the owner personally, I can confidently say they genuinely care about their customers and take pride in what they do. While traveling through the area the day before the Christmas holiday, our Ford Transit began giving transmission warnings persistently. When it showed mechanical signs we stopped for the night and called Js first thing in the morning. The staff at J's were INCREDIBLE and once they knew our situation took actually immediately. I have never worked with a shop that showed they cared about the outcome of the situation for the customers best interest like the staff at J's. Immediately diagnosed via code, confirmed the issue via mechanical tear down and committed to the plan for repairs. The parts we needed were typically long lead time and hard to find. I am an over the road hauler, and I was having some problems with my transmission in my F-350. The owner and his transmission expert were great. I explained what was happening, and the expert took my truck for a 45-minute test drive. Of course, my truck decided not to have any problems when he drove it. Regardless, they were great understanding people who exemplify the kind of people I've come to expect from the great state of Texas. Furthermore, it is refreshing to find an honest auto repair shop. They do themselves and their industry credit. Oh, and what was the charge for nearly an hour's worth of diagnostic time? $0.

Had the transmission rebuilt on my 2017 Ram 3500 by Utah at J's Garage in May of 2023. It had lost first gear while pulling and slipping in deep sand. I'm writing this review in January 2025, because how can you write a review without first testing the product? That was almost 2 years and 40,000 miles ago. I've pulled our 12,000 pound 5th-wheel from the Texas Panhandle to upstate NY, then through KS, MO, NE, SD, WY, MT. The most awesome test was pulling up the Bighorn Mountains in Wyoming for 24 miles up a 9-12% grade. We hit the top of the mountains with the transmission temp at a respectable 192 degrees F.
