I went in earlier this week to get an alignment on my Ram. I requested that they just double check to ensure everything in the front end was torqued down properly, specifically the panhard. The mechanic said it was not an issue. They looked at my truck, came out and informed me that they would have to drop the "tow bar" from my truck to do the alignment, and would have to charge for half an hour of work. Confused, as my truck does not have a tow bar anywhere on the front end, I agreed. I got my truck back, still with no tow bar, I noticed while driving that my steering would get momentarily stuck while turning to the right. I am posting this to warn other parents and families. A single stay at home father caring for a disabled child took his truck to Kerr Tire for inspection. They handed him an estimate for one thousand seven hundred eighty nine dollars of repairs that were not needed. This included a steering rack, alignment, power steering flush, brake diagnosis, and other items that were not supported by any real mechanical issues. When an independent mechanic inspected the truck, we found: Kerr Tire left the oil cooler adapter bolts four full turns loose during his last oil change.
