L & K Transmission

I always try to sponsor small businesses. Especially if they are Spanish speaking. I don't believe I will ever do this again. They take your cash money, but not much is done about the issue you took your vehicle in for. Had to return various times for the same issue, and was never really resolved. I paid Cash. Lost my money. I am a Senior Citizen that has to live on $700. a month. Extremely hard. My children gave me $800. When I called they said to go there and leave the vehicle all day to be diagnosed, which cost $160. I paid cash. I was told by them that after diagnosis, if I fix the issue with them the $160. would come off the total price of the fix. After diagnosed for $600. total to fix. L&K did a great job very quickly and for 1/5 of the price elsewhere! I took my van to two other places who quoted me over $5,000 and 2 weeks to fix everything! L&K quoted me $1200 and 2 days! I also had a busted headlight from my neighbor backing into it. The bulb was still intact but sometimes would work and sometimes not. We just asked them to take a look at it. They found us a whole new headlight component for only $15 and said they would put it in at no charge! They had everything done in just 1 day and when we got there to pick it up, to my surprise, they fixed the entire headlight and popped out and buffed the dent away too! And the total was only $1140! Luis worked on my cars for a few years. He is a great mechanic and does good work, however, HE IS A CROOK. One of the most dishonest mechanics I have ever worked with. Soon I became suspicious of some of his work. Parts looked used and some work I paid for looked like it was never done. Then one day I took my truck in for repairs. I kinda knew what was wrong and he confirmed my diagnosis. It was an easy fix and he would do it but later he called me to tell me he fixed the original problem but found that my fuel injectors were bad and that it would cost way more money. I didn't believe him. I showed up at the shop unexpected and demanded he show me what was wrong with my truck. He refused and told me 'that's not how we do it here'. I enjoy working on my car myself, and as somebody with decent car knowledge I'm pretty picky about who I let it work on my car. These guys are great. The service is great, it's timely, and the prices are more than fair. Luis replaced what I asked him to, told me what else needed to be done, and didn't hassle me. I have not only had him fix my car, but also 2 of my coworkers and we all 3 had a great experience. I will be coming back to luis for the other things I need.

I've waited several months to write this because I wanted to give my new transmission time. had my transmission rebuilt several months ago and it's been absolutely perfect. it's incredibly smooth. it saved me from buying a new car. best price around, really nice guy. my family has used him forever along with a close friend. he's helped them significantly sometimes even gone out of his way to help them like picking them up or dropping them off while their car is being repaired. just a good dude. I actually researched my exact transmission and learned what needed to be done and priced all the parts. I asked the owner to explain what he's going to do to my vehicle and the cost, everything was spot on. I've never met such an honest fair mechanic. Definitely recommend him.
