I took my 1973 3.0 here because coupe forum said they were good, well not anymore. They updated the A/C , it lasted 2 days. I had to take the car back 3 times and all 3 times the Freon leaked out within two days. This after shipping the car 200 miles at the cost of $700. Plus renting a car to get down there after it was supposedly finished. These people no longer pay attention to detail. Twice it came back with a hose missing or off laying in the engine compartment. I took the car to a local a/c once and they fixed it. They did the exhaust it rattled, they fixed a power window it failed again. Do not believe old reviews, the place has gone downhill since Carl is no longer there much.

This place feels like family. Carl, Alex and the crew were very kind, straight to the point, knowledgeable and got my 524TD running great to drive it all the way to Utah. Highly recommend taking your BMW to Carl for whatever it needs!

I take my bmw here for everything, these guys are really great! Fair pricing, quick service, and extremely nice. Steve even topped off my coolant for free within a 10 minute notice.

You want experienced and honest BMW mechanics? Come to Karl. And you will surprised that his professional fees are the same or lower than many other allegedly BMW experts that rip you off .

Can’t say enough good things about this place. Steve, who was just the nicest guy, saved me from what could’ve been a much more costly and stressful situation. La Jolla is so lucky to have a shop like this !
