Lahti Towing

We can’t say enough good things about Lahti Towing in Ironwood, MI. Our truck’s transmission went out just outside of Wakefield during a snowstorm with almost zero visibility. They came quickly, towed us safely to their shop, and had a new transmission installed and us back on the road in just two days. We’ve been coming up to the U.P. for decades, and this is exactly the kind of honest, hardworking hospitality that makes this place special. Lahti Towing went above and beyond, we can’t recommend them enough.

Blew a wheel bearing 40mins from ironwood. These guys came and got us with no hassle or issue and were great people to talk to. They were very helpful and if needed they will have my business in the future.

These people couldn’t be nicer. The guys in the shop checked a transmission issue for me and were very helpful in my moment of need. While I was waiting I had a lovely conversation with Steve Lahti, employee and father of the original owner who sadly passed away quite young a few years ago. He told me stories about his son, who was clearly a great guy, and about his other kids too; and showed me photos of his grandkids and told me how they were doing. Steve left immediately when he got a call that someone needed help (either a tow or a jump start) at the Indianhead parking lot…that is to say, call them if you need towing! If they’re available, they don’t dillydally!

My husband is working in the area and I needed to head back to Florida. Our turbo went out 3 days before I had to leave. They got us in and the part order extremely fast. The repair was done and completed just in time for me to leave. Would definitely recommend.

Jay pulled me out of a ditch on Christmas Day and spent the extra time doing it right. No hesitation, friendly service. Top notch.
