After reading reviews I noticed the negative ones were from women. This place is price gouging. I went in for the shaking in my front end. Sherman told me it was tires. I brought tires. Still shaking, I went back he told me I needed motor mounts all three. The price was $1,081.00. I told them no. I went to NAPA on Mechanicsville and asked questions about motor mounts and was told not all mounts go bad at the same time. They sent me to this guy who put the mount on my car, labor and mount price $300.00.

Sherman and his crew are the best!! I highly recommend his shop to anyone needing car service. I came in later in the afternoon and he had me out in less than 2 hours on a busy Monday with a new alternator. Everyone is so friendly and he has very reasonable costs. Don’t miss out on the best shop in town!

Let me start by saying that Sherman (owner/operator) at Lotsey & Hardy is such an exceptional and kind business owner. I regret not writing a review years earlier, but Lotsey & Hardy is great. Local business with an owner that is one in a million. I used to live within walking distance to Lotsey & Hardy, and that’s actually how I came to meet Sherman and his business. I have since moved to another part of the city but without question I prefer to take my car to Lotsey & Hardy for any major repair. Lotsey & Hardy is always busy: their expertise and skills are well known around the area. Lotsey and Hardy is hands down the best mechanic I've ever been to. Sherman and the team are second to none. I honestly didn't believe people still did business like this. Full transparency, honest and thorough work, thoughtfulness and kindness and fast turn arounds. It's the whole deal. I've lived in Richmond for 5 years and have been bouncing from mechanic to mechanic until Lotsey. They serviced my wife's rav4, and they have helped me above and beyond with a used truck i bought that had an oil leak. From contacting insurance, to estimate to working with me on scheduling, its been a stress relief. These guys go the extra mile when they don't have to.
