Mark Farmer's Garage

Thank GOD for Mark Farmer. We limped into town with a transmission that was not working. I called Mr. Farmer late in the day last Monday to inquire about getting our Suburban in the next day. We had planned to leave on Thursday to head back home to New England. He had us come in at 8. He and one of his mechanics test drove it and said yes, the tranny needed to be replaced. We told him to go ahead and do it. He was kind enough to drive us back to Harrah's where we were staying, and said that we should probably try to get an additional night and he could have us going by Friday. I booked the extra night. We left Asheville at 5:00 am heading back to Dallas. By 7:00 I was being towed to Mark’s garage, because of a damaged pulley and Serpentine belt. Not only did he get us up and running on a Friday between Christmas and New Years, but he also taxied us around town and made sure we weren’t stranded while he waited for parts to arrive. I can certainly imagine situations where unethical mechanics could have exploited the situation. Mark was honest with us and we feel so fortunate to have landed at his shop. The car hasn’t run this well in a while. We are very grateful for his work, courtesy and ethical practice. 5 stars! 10 if I could.

Super friendly. Went outof their way to help us when noone else in Murphy could take the time. Did great work and was reasonably priced. Highly recommend their shop!

This will be a completely candid review. All the terrible details. I dropped my 2 Wheel Dr. pick up truck off nine months ago for a transmission repair. That should’ve taken about two weeks. If none of the parts were available locally and all had to be ordered. I was assured it would be done before New Year’s when I dropped it off in November. From there every time I stopped I was assured it should be done in about a week or so. When I dropped my truck off, the problem it was having was fifth gear. When I picked it up nine months later The problem was first gear and squealing noises in the transmission. … And what I got to pay for this experience was $1,900. Needless to say, I don’t recommend anybody else to go through the pain and suffering that I went through.

Driving through town and my brakes went bad on me. Mark and Tristan stopped what they were doing and were able to get us back on the road in about an hour. We’re very grateful! Nice guys and quick work. Would definitely recommend!
