I brought an early model 1977 Honda CB750 to MasterCars to trade for a 2024 Honda Shadow Phantom they had for sale. This bike, physically, shares every part with what is typically considered the 1976 model year. (77 and 76 look vastly different from one another). When texting one of their salesmen, Todd, about this bike I referred to it as a 1976 for this reason. When I arrived, Todd was fantastic to speak with, and I explained how this (according to the VIN) is a 1977 but physically shares every part with the typical '76 model year. He looked it over, rode it, and we agreed that I would trade the bike + give $800 which I believed to be a fair deal for both parties.
