Master Tech Auto Repair

I drove to SF to visit family and was experiencing engine trouble the entire trip. I was referred to MT as a great mechanic. Absolutely true. Not only were the many problems with my car fixed but EVERY SINGLE staff member was welcoming, polite, informative and up front with me. I was given options, not mandates. I got to decide. I've never been treated so well at a car related business. I have more fixes I will need to address on my 2003 Tahoe. If at all possible, I'm going to return to this location. 10 out of 10! While traveling full time in our converted shuttle bus my husband and I found ourselves stuck in Santa Fe with some car issues. We are from Ohio so we didn’t know anyone in the area. Luckily, we found master tech and they were incredible to us. We came in without an appointment on a super busy Monday and they immediately took the time to listen to what was going on and started diagnosing. Unfortunately, after trying multiple different resolutions, we ended up needing a whole new transmission along with a few other repairs. I was having major engine trouble in my 1997 f250. Took it in to master tech and they were able to quickly identify that I had low compression in my engine. After consulting several other mechanics, I decided that I trust master tech over competitors for a major repair like replacing an engine. My judgement was correct, Amy was a pleasure to deal with and Ari is truly an expert in these older fords. After the engine replacement, I encountered some very hard to diagnose computer issues. Again, master tech did an excellent job of identifying and remedying the issue. After working with several shops as I have moved across the country, I can say with confidence master tech has the most honest warranty policy I've encountered. If there was an option to not even leave a star, I totally would, spent over four grand to get my ford escape, car fixed and it wasn’t even fixed… ended up having to just go and trade my car and I really wish I did that the first first place but that much money down the drain. Single mother with a job to get to and they did keep my car for over a month, it was so depressing and stressful and they kept saying I had to put more money in. Not even a day of having it back I had to go back! Definitely had the worst experience and they left my car a mess with tools. Also had a crack on my windshield! They did pay for the damage but once again having to take my car to another place to get fixed!

Do not take your vehicle here. Trust the negative reviews. I wish I had. First of all the lot is jam packed with cars - that’s the first red flag. They told me they had room for me that day but I didn’t hear from them until I went in person to check the status because they stopped answering my calls. The receptionist was so defensive and unprofessional and all I did was calmly ask for updates. She said “You should just take your vehicle back because we are just not working fast enough for you.” All I had asked at that point was for a status on the diagnosis so I could make arrangements. I should have immediately pulled out right then. My van was not properly diagnosed - they said the coolant was low, but didn’t give a real reason why it would have been low in the first place.
