Mavis Tires & Brakes

Yesterday I attended a funeral in Homewood. When I left the service, one of my tires on my new Ford Explorer was flat. This particular tire had been given some attention by two other service entities in the last couple of couple of weeks due to a slow leak. At the funeral home, I used an emergency inflation device to put 30 pounds of pressure in the tire. By the time I arrived at exit 112 on interstate 20 my tire pressure has been reduced to 14 pounds. I pulled off at the exit because there were three service stations and I figured at least one of them would have a tire inflation station. Upon making the exit, I noticed a Mavis Tire location on the right at 1701 N. 19th St. in Bessemer. I was in a real crunch and needed my tire patched ASAP. The service was not only impressively quick and affordable, but the staff was top notch. Candice helped put everything in layman’s terms for me and was on the ball - she even called me after I left when I had forgotten my book in the lobby (which I never needed to open because the service was so quick). The facilities were also clean and warm on the cold, rainy day of my visit. I am so thankful I found this place. They felt trustworthy, efficient, knowledgeable, and empathetic to my stress. Cannot recommend enough, seriously.

I had an awesome experience at the Mavis in Bessemer. Greg and the team really took care of me. From the moment I walked in, everyone was friendly and straight-up honest about what I needed. Greg explained everything in a way that actually made sense and didn’t make me feel pressured at all. The service was quick, the pricing was fair, and my car drives smoother than it has in a long time. You can tell they know what they’re doing and actually care about their customers. If you need tires or any kind of service, definitely check out the Bessemer Mavis and ask for Greg—he’s the real MVP. I’ll for sure be back.

My car needed a simple alignment. I had just had the tie rod and lower arm control fixed by a very good friend who is also a mechanic with the city of Birmingham. I made an appointment at this store. I sat for 2 1/2 hours for an alignment. Greg informed me that the alignment had been done HOWEVER, in his words whoever did the work on your car bent the strut…. I asked about the cost to fix that. He quoted $500. My car is pulling to the right and making noises like something is falling off of it. My car WAS NOT doing that before I brought it to this store. If my friend/mechanic had bent anything he would have told me so it could be fixed. I definitely believe these employees at this store bent my strut while doing an alignment, and I now question if they even did the alignment. If they did,
