McCoy's Auto Repair

I live in East Tennessee and I run a vending route through Southwest Virginia. My 2012 Ford E350 (cargo van) broke down in Pulaski and I had it towed here. I must say that the service I received was outstanding. I found the owner (Dan McCoy) to be a very professional and straight dealing person. He even allowed me to camp in my van on his lot, which is the first auto repair shop that has ever allowed me to do this when I’ve broken down along my route. The prices at McCoy’s Auto Repair are quite reasonable, and Dan really went the extra mile to research the least expensive way to fix my van. The staff at McCoy’s are also very knowledgeable and professional, and I really appreciated the office manager, Kathy. She made me feel quite at home during this ordeal. I took my car in to fix an exhaust leak and then after they fix that exhaust leak, they told me I had a second exhaust leak and it would be like a $3000 fix. They also failed my inspection for one reason my airbag light being on and that doesn’t fail an inspection ever since 2024. I took it to Thompson tire to get it reinspected before I did a $3000 exhaust leak fix. And they told me I did not have a leak and then they passed my inspection These people diagnosed your car wrong. I do not recommend them.

There’s a lot to cover here. Will 100% sell you things you don’t need. They will charge 2 hours for a 30min job. They broke interior parts and argued about being responsible. They broke ignition cylinder then charged me to diagnose it. Had an appointment for an inspection booked, they waited until 2.5 hours later to pull it in the shop. Claimed I needed new rotors when I’d just installed new rotors a month before. When they heard me requesting a ride from a friend, told me I didn’t need a ride, that they had a loaner car for me to use. The loaner car was falling to pieces and absolutely disgusting. Body panels and door handles missing, interior literally coated in thick grime. A weld they did on my jeep’s exhaust left the rear pipe now wedged against the fuel tank and rattling. (Tech

I traveled from Richmond to Radford because my daughter had to have surgery about a month ago. The night before surgery I made it there but my car was making a really loud noise. The next day while my daughter was in recovery I asked her nurse if she knew of any decent shops in the area. She told me to hold on and came back 10 minutes later with the name and number of this place. She said her dad had been going there for (I can’t recall the number of years but it was A LOT). I called them immediately and spoke to a super nice lady and explained what had happened. She was SO sweet and asked me to bring my car in as soon as I could get my daughter home and settled.
