Meenan Transmissions

This shop is completely unethical. I called to ask how much they’d charge for a rebuilt transmission on my 25-year-old car. I clearly explained my situation—that I didn’t want to put money into the car, just wanted a price. The guy insisted he needed to see it, saying it could be something else. Thinking it might be a minor issue, I brought it in. All he did was check the transmission fluid level and scan for codes—both things that require no special shop skills. Then he told me I needed a brand-new transmission, not a rebuilt one. The kicker? He charged me $175 for doing almost nothing. Listen there are businesses and then people you can just tell have your best interest at hand.I have ATS Cadillac, another shop recommended Meenan transmission,I needed a knew transmission so John the owner told me what we had to do and we did it.Only thing I had warranty coverage so they get involved which I don’t think they should.Transmission went in and at the beginning u could feel something was wrong over time it got worse.Almist 2 yrs. My mechanic thought I might be having an issue with my transmission so he recommended that I have it checked out. He recommended Meenan Transmissions as he had heard good things about them. I made an appointment with John from Meenan to take a look at my transmission. AND BOY was my mechanic right about Meenan. John drove my car and actually found nothing wrong with my transmission. He chatted with me about what a great transmission my 2007 Chevy Malibu had and told me what warning signs to look for (just in case). So I had the tranny serviced while it was there and in runs as smooth as silk. Customer service is great and I told my grandson to take his SUV there. Thank you for your honesty and service.
