Juan at MJ Automotive saved me $3500 (see my review of Yen's Auto and Tire). I pulled into his shop this morning for a second opinion after being told by Yen's that I needed a used $3500 transmission for my 2008 Scion xD. As soon as I pulled into MJ's, Juan came out, popped the hood and checked the dipstick: no oil. He topped off the oil, and the rough engine sound and lurching while idling went away. He then show me the massive oil leak and said it was probably the oil pressure sender. After a closer look, he confirmed that was the issue. What was going to be a $3500 used transmission ended up being a $63 oil pressure sender. After 5 quarts of oil and labor, my bill was less than $200. If I could give Juan and MJ 6 stars, I would. Best shop around! Their service, prices, and communication are outstanding from start to finish. They are fast, efficient, and incredibly honest, which I (personally) have found to be rare in this industry. They walked me through every detail, explained what they found, and took the time to educate me, which gave me both clarity and confidence. It’s clear they value transparency and integrity above all else (and are also so kind!). They will absolutely be my go-to mechanics moving forward. Seriously cannot recommend them highly enough!!

Courteous, fast, friendly and patient. Most importantly, they work with integrity, and that is hard to find nowadays with so many opportunities for scams. I had an "electrical issue" with my brake lights. Being a first time customer and a senior woman, any unscrupulous person could have easily taken advantage of me by grossly inflating the charge and telling me the wiring had to be replaced or something similar. But Mario informed me it was just a bulb issue and fixed it within an hour. That's honesty. I highly recommend this business. It is evident that they truly care about their customers. I will be taking my car to MJ Auto for maintenance from now on.

An honest and responsive shop. I have taken my car here three times, and for two of them I was charged NOTHING even though they took meaningful time to assess whether there was a problem. Once was for a tire pressure warning, and the other was for a squeaking noise coming out of my car as it rolled out in the morning. They easily could've told me there was a problem and charged me for something superfluous, or they could've at least charged me for the time spent investigating (which I offered). Instead they told me they couldn't find anything and to just come back if things got worse. The other time I came in was for some routine oil change, tire alignment/rotation, and other typical maintenance.
