New River Auto Care

I never leave reviews but I felt like I just had to for new river auto care. I moved down here for school and picking a mechanic was scary all things considered. The reviews are right Derrick does honest work. Every time I’ve brought my car in he does good work and charges fairly. Additionally, he tells me what’s up and explains what’s going on with my car which is hard to find. Repairs are always quick! I would recommend to everyone.

Derrick was amazing. I got a wild estimate for fixing my brake issues with my car and I came here which he fixed for almost half the price. He does not scam like these other mechanics who are trying to profit off students. He even drove me home when I dropped my car off because I didn’t have a ride. He was awesome and I would 100% come back if anything happens to my car (hopefully not tho). A really nice and honest mechanic, not very easy to come by fr.

Just wanted to update my review, and mention what a great communicator Derrick is. He's also really efficient, and always lets me know when I'll get my car back.Took my car here for the first time after being curious for a while as I live right down the road. They got me taken care of extremely quickly, and Derrick is really pleasant to deal with, and was very clear about what the issue was and how much it would cost. I will definitely be coming back. Also loved the WUVT-FM sticker on the door, I'm a long time DJ, and it made me smile.

I got my AC fixed. His quote was very spot on to what I paid. He also found an issue with my car dealing with my brakes that I previously saw a different mechanic for and they said they “fixed it” but didn’t. I highly trust them and everything I got fixed is running perfectly now!

Spent $2.2k and the car still wasn’t fixed after 8 months for a 2 month estimated job. Had to follow up in person numerous times after long lapses of communication. Kind to provide a small refund for the coolant that leaked.
