Newton Laundromat

I would love to give this place a 5-star review, but I just cannot. This is due to the fact that the coin machine was out, and the bottoms of the machine were dusty and had a couple of flies. Now, it is still the best laundromat in town as far as machines go. The coolest thing to me is the nostalgia in that this place was the first to have a Maytag machine. Many may know that Maytag used to have their factory in Newton before they moved it out of the country to Mexico. This town thrived when it was here. Thank goodness for the speedway. Anyways, there are plenty of machines and large loads as well. The counters are plenty and clean. Gross washers, half the dryer doors don’t want to close or are falling apart. Walking in here I feel like I’m in an apocalypse. BUT they have “fancy” blinds…. I think they need to invest in cleaning and updating.

Says it cost 6.75$ on the card reader on one machine and 5.50 (some where around there) on a smaller machine, it then proceeded to charge one of my cards 10.00$ (again for a load that was supposed to be 6.75), and i got got chargered another 10.00$ on the second card i used on the 5.50$(ish) machine i used. Now there is a random 2$ and some odd cent charged also on that card. The second card i also used for another load but that charge hasnt shown up yet to say what that cost me. Wouldn't recommend using a card here. Everything was fine! Cleaned and dried our clothes fine, it got the job done, just not a fan of spending what will more than likely end up being 30$ + to wash three loads of laundry here, and that's not including the dryer cost (.25 for 5 minutes) on top of that. Seems Decent. It’s your typical laundromat but it’s clean and the equipment seems decent. I travel all over the country for work and I’ve definitely seen much much worse.

At least two of the dryers don't work properly and the only way to get a refund is to wait to have it mailed to you. It's 2024, this is ridiculous. If you're going to run a Laundromat, make sure the machines actually WORK.
