Northport Machine Shop

If you’re like me you read reviews and I’ll be the first to say don’t let these scare you majority of them are due to the previous owners. These guys done great work and fast turn around times and good prices. Took them a head to work and he informed me what should be done and it turned out great

I paid $100 for the privileged of having my parts ruined. I came to this shop to have a flywheel match balanced and 6 mounting holes drilled. I wrote exactly what I needed on the invoice including the dimensions of the holes as well as written on the flywheel. When I came to pick up my flywheel he explained that because it "looked" neutral balanced he had not bothered to check it at RPM and had instead spun it by hand (ignoring the balancing service I was paying for) and had over drilled the holes specified at 25/64 to 13/32 because he had not read the invoice. Had them to build a motor 383 got the engine home put it in car leaking water around the head gasket told me I ran the motor hot. They never give receipt for work because they do not do good work.

Very bad... Had the engine for 2 months almost... Every day. Said the same thing every week... We're working on it... After almost 2 months only freeze plugs and cam bearing. I don't recommend taking anything here... Just got to cylinder head in birmingham!

This is the second engine head I have had them work on. They do high quality work. I will always go here.
